Research Fellow / Associate Positions

The NUS Centre for International Law (CIL) is seeking young scholars for the position of Research Fellow or Research Associate.

CIL is at the beginning stages of developing a major research project on ASEAN Integration. (For information on the project, click here.)  Fellows/Associates will be expected to spend at least half of their time on research relating to ASEAN Law and Policy and/or the ASEAN Integration Project.

The remainder of their time can be in specific areas of interest in one or more of the following focus areas of the Centre:

  1. Ocean Law and Policy;
  2. Trade and Investment Law and Policy;
  3. Aviation Law and Policy; and
  4. Intellectual Property Law and Policy (as it relates to Trade Law & Policy).

The appointment will initially be for 1 year with an option to renew for another year following review.

Essential qualifications:

  • PhD or equivalent (for Research Fellow) and LLM or equivalent (for Research Associate) with a background and competency in the above focus areas.
  • Publications in reputed journals and presentations at international conferences would be an advantage.
  • Experience in research or research collaboration within/outside currently employed institution would be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, methodological and conceptual skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
