Mr Shaun Kang
Mr Shaun Kang holds an LLM from the National University of Singapore (specialising in International and Comparative Law). He graduated with an LLB (Hons) from the University of Reading. Shaun trained at one of the leading law firms in Malaysia and was subsequently admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. Prior to joining the Centre, Shaun worked with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Malaysia and was primarily involved in work relating to the protection of refugees. Notably, he was part of the emergency protection team which responded to the influx of refugees at the Malaysia-Thai border during the 2012 Rohingya crisis. Most recently, he worked as Assistant Legal Counsel in the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), The Hague, where he provided administrative and legal support to the International Bureau. Shaun is part of the international law and practice group.
