The CIL Energy Law and Policy Team is joined in conversation by Dr Elena Cima, who is a Senior Lecturer in Public International Law at the University of Geneva, where she teaches courses on international environmental and climate law, energy law, and investment law. She is also the Co-Chair of the European Society of International Law’s Interest Group on Energy and International Law. In this episode, Dr Cima shares her views on the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT), its history and development, the challenges it faces in today’s global landscape, and the lessons one can learn from the ECT for future energy trade and investment cooperation, particularly in Southeast Asia.
