The CIL Nuclear Law and Policy Team is joined in conversation by Ms Helen Cook, author of the textbook, The Law of Nuclear Energy (2nd Edition, 2018). This episode briefly examines the role of nuclear law as captured through the lens of her textbook. The Law of Nuclear Energy has been described as “interesting for both practitioners looking for comprehensive overview on existing legal framework in this particular field of industry as well as policymakers who deal with strategic issues of energy policy and security” (Journal of World Energy Law & Business). In this episode, she discusses the proactive role that nuclear law can play in addressing key challenges facing a rapidly-innovating nuclear industry, one of the new themes in the next edition of her book due to be launched later this year.
