Danielle Yeow spoke at the High Level Panel discussion on “Cyber Multilateralism and the Race Against Change – Affirming the UN relevance” held during Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW)


CIL's Adjunct Senior Research Fellow, Danielle Yeow, was invited to join a High Level Panel discussion on "Cyber Multilateralism and the Race Against Change - Affirming the UN relevance" at the Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW) on 19 Oct 2023 together with Tarja Fernandez, Ambassador of Cyber Affairs (Finland); Dr Regine Grienberger, Cyber Ambassador (Germany); Ms Kelly Anderson, Director for International Cyber Policy (Canada) and Mr William Middleton, Head of Cyber Policy Department (UK), The opening keynote was delivered by Manon Le Blanc, Head of the Cyber Sector,  European External Action Service.  

The panel discussed among others, the role and relevance of the UN in the cyber context in the face of ongoing geopolitical rivalry;  the perspectives of and challenges faced by smaller states  in the cyber normative discussions;  the question of inclusivity and participation by stakeholders as well as the  future direction of the discussions at the OEWG. Danielle also shared her thoughts on the interaction between private corporate actors and international law in the cyber arena.
