CIL Ocean Law and Policy has published two blog posts, forming part of the CIL-NCLOS Dialogue Symposium 2026, on the Norwegian Centre for the Law of the Sea (NCLOS) Blog. The symposium follows after the CIL-NCLOS Dialogue in November 2025, in which the theme was "Arctic Governance: Contemporary Trends in Shipping, Environment, and Security". The dialogue examined current issues and challenges in Arctic shipping and was hosted in Singapore by CIL with funding support from the Singapore Maritime Institute.
Senior Adviser Robert Beckman and Research Associate Bikashita Choudhury co-authored a blog post titled "The Impact of Western Sanctions on the Development of Shipping on the Northern Sea Route between Russia and East Asia" (https://site.uit.no/nclos/2026/06/24/the-impact-of-western-sanctions-on-the-development-of-shipping-on-the-northern-sea-route-between-russia-and-east-asia/).
