The inaugural Singapore International Arbitration Academy was launched on Monday, 26 November 2012 as the National University of Singapore’s Centre for International Law (CIL) opened its doors to private sector and public sector lawyers and officials from Singapore, the ASEAN member states, Hong Kong, India, Kenya, New Zealand, Spain, and Tanzania. A keynote speech was delivered by the Attorney-General of Singapore, Mr Steven Chong, S.C. The Academy is designed to build capacity in international commercial and investment treaty arbitration, not only in Singapore, but throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
