New Research Page Devoted to Rigs-to-Reefs

rigs-to-reefsCIL is delighted to announce the creation of a new research page devoted to Rigs-to-Reefs, which is the transformation of obsolete offshore oil and gas platforms into artificial reefs for fisheries and biodiversity enhancement. These research materials are the culmination of a multidisciplinary effort within NUS involving CIL and two other NUS research centres: TMSI for marine ecology and CORE for offshore engineering. This new research page includes: (i) a comprehensive report of the multidisciplinary workshop co-organised by CIL on the prospects for Rigs-to-Reefs in Southeast Asia, which explored ecological, law and policy, engineering and business considerations; (ii) the workshop presentations; (iii) a Rigs-to-Reefs legal research guide; and (iv) and a comprehensive bibliography.
