This report is the first ever multidisciplinary effort by scientists, the submarine cable industry, and government experts from Bermuda, the UK and the US to study and report on environmental impacts of modern submarine fibre-optic telecommunications cables in Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (ABNJ) and the high seas. The report was compiled from a workshop that was held on 23 October 2014 in Washington, DC, at which CIL Global Associate Tara Davenport served as rapporteur.
