Entry into Force / Termination Provisions |
“Article XIX: Entry into Force, Duration, Withdrawal and Termination 1. This Memorandum of Understanding shall enter into force on the date of signing and shall remain in force for a period of 2 years. 2. Thereafter, it shall be automatically extended for a further period of 1 year. 3. Notwithstanding anything in this Article, any ASEAN Member State may withdraw from this Memorandum of Understanding by notifying the other ASEAN Member States of its intention to withdraw from this Memorandum of Understanding by a notice in writing through diplomatic channels or through the ASEAN Secretariat, at least three (3) months prior to its withdrawal from the Memorandum of Understanding.” It is likely that this MoU has lapsed after 3 years of entering into force.
