Workshop on Regional Cooperation to Enhance Transboundary Consultation on
Nuclear Power Development in Southeast Asia


8–9 May 2019, Singapore

The ESI-CIL Nuclear Governance Project organised a workshop on ‘Regional Cooperation to Enhance Transboundary Consultation on Nuclear Power Development in Southeast Asia’ for Singapore government officials on 8 and 9 May 2019. The closed-door workshop was attended by over 30 Singapore government officials from 12 different ministries and agencies as well as selected academics.

External speakers were Mr Anthony Kenneth Stott and Dr Manuel Welsch from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA); Ms Tea Aulavuo from the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE); Mr Matthew Baird, an independent consultant; Professor Thomas Fischer from the University of Liverpool; and Mr Matthew James Jury from DHI Water & Environment(S). Speakers from NUS CIL were Associate Professor Robert Beckman, Ms Denise Cheong, and Ms Nivedita S from the ESI-CIL Nuclear Governance Project and Ms Youna Lyons.
