26-30 October 2020: Senior Research Fellow Denise Cheong and Research Associate Nivedita S Participate in SIEW 2020

Senior Research Fellow Denise Cheong and Research Associate Nivedita S participated in the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) 2020, a week-long hybrid event held from 26-30 October, with both onsite and online streaming elements designed for local and global participants. CIL researchers attended several events, including the second Global Ministerial Conference on System Integration of Renewables and several roundtables: hosted by ASEAN Centre for Energy on ASEAN’s progress and plans for a clean, affordable and resilient energy system; by the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore on the realities and opportunities of decarbonisation as the world looks ahead to CoP26; by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific on the importance of cross-border integration to support increase power system sustainability and resilience; and by the Atlantic Council on the 2020 US elections and the pathways for energy and climate policy. They also heard from the World Nuclear Association on nuclear energy’s role in the post-pandemic recovery and clean energy transition as part of the SIEW Energy Insights series of events.
