The most recent IPCC WGIII Report : Climate Change 2022 – Mitigation of Climate Change, reaffirms the significant role of carbon capture and storage technology in limiting global warming. According to the IPCC, mitigating the worst effects of climate change relies on two overarching strategies: first, preventing as much greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions as possible from reaching the atmosphere (with solutions that include carbon capture) and second, removing carbon dioxide already in the atmosphere (with solutions that include carbon dioxide removal). In light of this report, carbon capture and storage is likely to feature significantly at the COP27 discussions in Nov 2022.

Join us on an online fireside chat with Ruth Herbert, Chief Executive Officer of the Carbon Capture & Storage Association as we discuss the key findings of the IPCC Report relating to this technology and the potential and challenges posed. We will also explore the policy and legal implications, including the relevance of regional and international legal frameworks as well as recent regulatory trends and developments.
