15 July 2022: Amiel Valdez was invited again to serve as a Mentor at Ateneo de Manila University Law School’s Legal Research, Writing, and Analysis Workshop

Amiel served as a mentor in the Legal Research, Writing, and Analysis (LRWA) workshop of Ateneo de Manila University School of Law this Academic Year 2022-23.

The workshop is part of one of Ateneo Law School’s longest traditions, i.e., the Introduction to Law (ITL) programme for incoming law students. The ITL programme is every law student’s first encounter with the rigors of legal education and often sets the tone for their next four years. Over the past decades, it has gone through various forms from an elaborate discussion of Roman Law to glimpses of advances in various legal fields. For the past five years, however, the programme has been enhanced to equip the students with fundamental skills of case analysis and to expose them to basic legal concepts.

As a mentor and part of the corps of lawyers, Amiel mentored a small group of law students in conducting case analysis and case briefing. In addition to aiding the Ateneo Law School in its legal education mission, Amiel’s involvement goes a long way towards demonstrating to the new students (and to the law school administration) the Ateneo Law spirit of community that goes beyond the stereotype law school boundaries.
