29 July 2022: TRILA team and CIL colleagues co-organised and participated in the Junior Scholar Workshop of the Asian SIL Nepal Conference


In collaboration with the Asian Society of International Law, and Nepalese Society of International Law, the TRILA team – Prof Tony Anghie and Amiel Valdez – and CIL Events team – Gerry Ng and Matthew Yeo – co-organised the ‘Junior Scholar Writing Workshop: Towards Publication’. The Workshop was held online via Zoom on 29 July 2022. Other CIL researchers were also actively involved in this event. CIL Senior Research Fellow, Tara Davenport, and CIL Global Fellow, Cheah Wui Ling, served as Commentators. Brian Chang and Tensin Studer presented their paper. 

The Workshop is a part of this year’s Nepal Regional Conference by Asian Society of International Law. Twenty (20) selected young scholars presented their research projects. Their topics cover different areas of international law – Law of the Sea, International Economic Law, Human Rights, History and Theory of International Law, Use of Force, International Humanitarian Law, and broadly Public International Law. A panel of senior scholars commented on their papers and gave advice on writing, publishing, completing PhD journey, etc.
