8 June 2021: CIL Director Dr Nilüfer Oral Was Invited to Speak at the Launch of Book title “Frontiers in International Environmental Law: Oceans and Climate Challenges – Essays in Honor of David Freestone”.

To mark World Oceans Day on 8 June, the WMU-Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute welcomed the international community to a public Webinar – “Ocean and Climate Challenges: Seeking Sustainable Solutions”, with a special book launch of Frontiers in International Environmental Law: Oceans and Climate Challenges – Essays in Honour of David Freestone.

 

As one of the contributors, Dr Nilufer Oral spoke on the topic “Sea level rise as a pressing concern of the international community and the work of the International Law Commission.” The other speakers in the session include Professor Daniel Bodansky, Professor Robin Churchill, Professor Charlotte Streck and was moderated by Professor Ronan Long.
