On 22–26 January 2024, CIL attended the 47^th session of UNCITRAL’s Working Group III, represented by Senior Research Fellow Dr Charalampos Giannakopoulos. The mandate of Working Group III is to develop reforms to the existing regime of investor-state dispute settlement. CIL has been an official observer to Working Group III since 2017, when the Working Group’s mandate began.

During the 47th session, the Working Group made decisive progress towards the establishment of an Advisory Centre for International Investment Dispute Resolution. CIL contributed to these discussions with an intervention on the objectives and scope of work of an advisory centre.
