22 August 2025: CIL Director Dr Nilüfer Oral was Invited by the World Commission on Environmental Law (WCEL) to Speak at the Webinar titled "The ICJ Climate Change Advisory Opinion: A Turning Point for Climate Justice from the World Court"

The World Commission on Environmental Law (WCEL) hosted a webinar titled "The ICJ Climate Change Advisory Opinion: A Turning Point for Climate Justice from the World Court" on Friday, 22 August 2025. The webinar discussed the recent Advisory Opinion from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the obligations of States regarding climate change. According to the WCEL, the Opinion was seen as a turning point for climate justice and was expected to have a significant impact on climate action and the energy transition.
