CIL Director Dr Nilufer Oral was invited to speak at the Symposium on Investors’ Obligations in International Law that was at the University of Geneva on May 16–17, 2024. The symposium was hosted by Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, in collaboration with the University of Geneva, Faculty of Law and ALG LLP. 

The symposium considered the scope of investors’ obligations and regulation of their conduct under international law in light of recent developments, particularly the African Continental Free Trade Area’s Investment Protocol.

Dr Oral spoke on Environmental Protection at the panel “Investor Obligations Cluster I: Global Stewards”.
