On 4 April 2024, Dr. NGUYEN Thanh Trung, Research Fellow at the Ocean Law and Policy Team delivered a guest lecture to the Graduate Class at the Universiti of Malaya, Malaysia. The selected topic for the class is The Impasse at the WTO Appellate Body: Problems and Solutions, focusing on (i) the overview of the WTO dispute settlement system; (ii) the reasons that led to the deadlock in the appointment of new Appellate Body members and (iii) the solutions to resolve the impasse through dispute settlement reform. The lecture was part of the Master of Commercial Law Program, organized and taught by Dr. Su Wai Mon.
