CIL Fireside Chat Series: The Preah Vihear Temple Case at the ICJ

ProfJayakumar+TommyKohThe Centre for International Law held its first of three sessions of the 2014 Fireside Chat Series on ‘The Preah Vihear Temple Case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ)’ on 12 August 2014  in the Moot Court at the NUS Bukit Timah Campus. Hosted by Professor S Jayakumar and Professor Tommy Koh, this session featured H. E. Virachai Plasai, Thailand’s Ambassador to the Netherlands, and Mr. Rodman Bundy, Director, Eversheds LLP, who shared their insights into the dispute’s history, the interplay of domestic situation and foreign policy, the role of ASEAN in the dispute, and various aspects of international law and diplomacy that have influenced and contributed to the dispute settlement by way of the ICJ, the first ICJ case (1959-1962) and the second ICJ case (2011-2013).
