This meeting was the only instance of a joint ministerial meeting of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers, Economic Ministers and Finance Ministers. It was convened as a preparatory meeting for the 3rd ASEAN Informal Summit in 1999, with the stated intention of facilitating closer cross-sectoral cooperation in ASEAN’s responses to the Asian financial crisis. |
