Dispute settlement provisions

Refer to Article 17 of Paris Convention as amended by the Additional Protocol of 1964, by the Protocol of 1982 and the Protocol of 2004:

“Any dispute arising between two or more Contracting Parties concerning the interpretation or application of the Convention shall be examined by the Steering Committee and in the absence of friendly settlement shall, upon the request of a Contracting Party concerned, be submitted to the Tribunal established by the Convention of 20th December 1957 on the Establishment of a Security Control in the Field of Nuclear Energy.”

Part II. Paragraph (e) of the Protocol:

“e) This Protocol shall come into force in accordance with the provisions of Article 20 of the Convention.”

From the text of the Paris Convention as amended by the Additional Protocol of 1964, by the Protocol of 1982 and the Protocol of 2004:

Article 20:

“Amendments to this Convention shall be adopted by mutual agreement of all the Contracting Parties. They shall come into force when ratified or confirmed by two-thirds of the Contracting Parties. For each Contracting Party ratifying or confirming thereafter, they shall come into force at the date of such ratification or confirmation.”
