The 48th Annual Conference on Oceans Law & Policy (COLP48) is heading to Delhi, India, from 9–12 September 2025!
COLP48 will revolve around the theme: ‘Developing World Approaches to Ocean Governance: Perspectives from the Indian Ocean Rim’, and bring together distinguished scholars and experts from different disciplines to discuss innovations in international maritime law and governance, and consider the unique perspectives and contributions of developing states. The panels and dialogues will specifically focus on the following issues:
- Tackling the Triple Planetary Crisis: Biodiversity Loss, Climate Change, and Pollution
- Regime Interactions and the Role of Non-State Actors, and Special Interest of SIDS in the Indian Ocean Region
- Seabed Mineral Mining, and Offshore Oil, Gas and Critical Infrastructure
- Fisheries and Food Security, and Ratification and Implementation of the BBNJ Agreement
- International Trade and Shipping, and Maritime Security
- Emerging Technologies and Artificial Intelligence in the Ocean, and Autonomous Shipping
- Future Ocean Governance in the Indian Ocean
