The Centre for International Law (CIL), National University of Singapore and the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS), University of Wollongong are jointly organising a Maritime Boundaries Workshop in Singapore from 6-8 June 2017.
The Workshop will be conducted by renowned legal and technical experts versed in the negotiation of maritime boundaries. It will consist of a combination of interactive lectures and supervised practical exercises in which participants will work in teams to negotiate a maritime boundary between two fictitious States. The Workshop will be led by Professor Robert Beckman and Captain Ashley Roach of CIL and Professor Stuart Kaye and Professor Clive Schofield of ANCORS. In addition, the following persons will serve as speakers, panellists or tutors:

The Workshop is the third in a series of Maritime Boundary Delimitation Workshops held in coordination with the Expanded ASEAN Maritime Forum (EAMF). It enjoys the support of the governments of the United States and Singapore in advancing EAMF participants’ understanding of maritime boundary delimitation by providing a robust platform of academic instruction and cooperative dialogue.
Invitations are being extended to government officials from all member states of EAMF: the ten ASEAN Member States, Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Russian Federation and the United States of America. The workshop is also open to government officials, academics, and practitioners from other countries.
The Workshop fee at of USD 1,500 per participant is inclusive of refreshment breaks, lunches and course materials.
