CIL Conference on Food Security and Trade

Food-Security

On the sidelines of the upcoming Singapore Trade Dialogue, which took place on 30-31 October, CIL organised two conferences on major issues currently faced by the world trade system:

This Conference brought together leading experts on international trade in agriculture to provide an analysis of the ways in which the current international trade system can affect food security.

The conference addressed the relationship between food security and self-sufficiency; market shocks and pricing volatility; examined upcoming challenges such as climate change and resource shortages and examined whether the current trade framework is adequate.

CIL hopes the Conference enhanced awareness and understanding on the role of trade in enhancing food security.
