This event is jointly organized by the Centre for International Law (CIL) of the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Georgian Lawyers for Independent Profession (GLIP). Distinguished speakers will cover contemporary issues in international investment arbitration, and Georgia’s legal framework for foreign investment and the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards. The event will provide a detailed introduction to investment arbitration, from the signing of treaties providing consent to investment arbitration, to questions of jurisdiction and the merits of investment claims, to the enforcement of awards. Speakers will also cover the ISDS reform discussions taking place at the UNCITRAL Working Group III and at ICSID, as well as Georgian perspectives on international investment law.
