CIL-ILA Dialogue on Climate Litigation
with Professor Daniel Bodansky


Professor Daniel Bodansky, CIL's Visiting Distinguished Global Scholar, is a preeminent authority in global climate change and is a prolific and celebrated author on the topic. He has served as climate change coordinator and attorney-advisor for the U.S. Department of State, in addition to consulting for the United Nations on climate change issues. In this joint CIL-ILA Singapore event, Prof. Daniel Bodansky will explore various issues on climate litigation, which has been growing exponentially over the past few years. He will discuss the different varieties of international cases as well as the types of domestic cases that are currently pending in various courts across the globe and explore potential future trends.

Diane Tan (Deputy Director-General, International Affairs Division, Attorney-General’s Chambers) and Albert Marsman (Partner, Debrauw Blackstone Westbroek) will then join Prof. Daniel Bodansky for a moderated discussion and provide insights from a government and industry perspective. Co-moderators: Danielle Yeow (Adjunct Senior Research Fellow, Lead Climate Change Law and Policy (CIL) and Tiong Teck Wee (Co-Head Sustainability & Responsible Business Practice and Partner, Commercial & Corporate Disputes Practice).
