About the Conference
The NUS Centre for International Law is very pleased to announce that it will once again bring together the international legal community through its third International Law Year in Review (ILYIR) Conference. This year, the Conference will be held online via Zoom on 25 June 2021, from 2.00 to 7.15 pm Singapore time (Time Converter). Click here for the updated programme.
The Conference will bring together distinguished experts in international law to review and discuss key developments in international law in 2020 and 2021. This year, Conference will feature the following topics:
- The Singapore / ITLOS: Model Agreement for the Provision of Facilities to ITLOS
- Ocean and Climate Change
- COVID-19 Pandemic and International Law
- Survey of the Latest Judgments of the International Court of Justice
- Recent Developments in ASEAN Law
- Updates on International Law Developments
The Conference will also feature a book launch on ‘Reflections on the Making of the Modern Law of the Sea’ by the late Ambassador Satya N Nandan.

The Conference is open to all international law scholars and legal practitioners from any fields of specialisation.

Format of the Conference
To replicate as closely as possible the intimate setting of an in-person conference, the format will be a Zoom call/meeting. Thus, participants are requested to have their cameras on throughout. During the question-and-answer part of each session, participants are highly encouraged to ask their questions or make comments through their microphones and cameras.
