The International Law Association (Singapore Branch) presents:

Tackling Climate Change: the Journey to Paris and Beyond

Climate change is widely recognised as one of the most pressing concerns confronting the international community today. This talk will explore and trace the development of international efforts to address climate change through legal instruments, including the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (“UNFCCC”), the Kyoto Protocol to the UNFCCC and, more recently, the Paris Agreement, which entered into force on 4 November 2016. The talk will also consider the problems and opportunities for further development which lie ahead in this important and evolving area of international law.

This event is organised by the ILA (Singapore Branch) with the support of the Centre for International Law, NUS and the School of Law, SMU.

Speaker’s profile:

Rena Lee is a Senior State Counsel with the International Affairs Division of the Attorney-General’s Chambers of Singapore.
