The NUS Centre for International Law is seeking to recruit a Head for its Investment Treaty Research programme. As part of an ambitious growth plan, the Centre is looking for an expert in international investment treaties and arbitration to lead this part of its research agenda. We are looking for candidates with strong research, writing, organizational and public speaking capabilities. A graduate degree in law is highly desirable. Experience in investment arbitration as counsel or as arbitrator, although not required, would be an asset.
In addition to running the programme, the new Head will:
- Coordinate with the Director and senior CIL staff in CIL’s other research areas: oceans law, ASEAN integration law, trade law and general international dispute settlement;
- Lead CIL’s ASEAN region outreach training programme in the investment treaty and arbitration area; and
- Coordinate CIL’s intensive training programmes (such as the annual Singapore International Arbitration Academy).
It is expected that the Head would also teach at least one course at NUS Faculty of Law.
A letter of application together with a resume should be submitted to Ms Sadhna Rai, CIL’s Human Resource Executive at cilsr@nus.edu.sg by no later than 15 October 2015. Applicants should arrange for two confidential reference letters to be sent separately to CIL no later than that date. The successful applicant would be expected to take up the position in the first half of 2016.
