We are pleased to announce that former Senior Minister Professor S Jayakumar, who has returned to the NUS Faculty of Law upon his retirement from politics, has agreed to provide guidance and advice to the Centre for International Law (CIL).

Professor Jayakumar, a Patron of CIL, will assist the Centre to realise its goal to be a leading think tank on international law and policy. He will also conduct seminars on international law, which will explore the interplay between international law, diplomacy and policy. He has kindly stated that he will perform these roles without any remuneration.

Professor Jayakumar is a distinguished jurist who has contributed greatly to Singapore’s standing internationally. His unique experiences over many years in law, public policy, and international law and diplomacy will be invaluable to students and researchers. CIL and the Faculty of Law will benefit from his experience and insight.

CIL joins the Faculty of Law in welcoming Professor Jayakumar back to his alma mater and the place where he spent the early phase of his career before going into public service.
