Dr Dawoon Jung
Dr Dawoon Jung is a Research Fellow in the Ocean Law and Policy team at the Centre for International Law. Dawoon completed her PhD at the University of Edinburgh, which was funded by the College of Humanities and Social Science Research Studentship (2015-2018). Her PhD project explores the 1982 Law of the Sea Convention and the regulation of offshore renewable energy activities.
She has obtained a Master’s degree in International Law from Korea University in the Republic of Korea, where she also completed a Bachelor in Law. She served as an intern at the Legal Office of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in 2014, where she conducted an analysis of the legal procedures of several international cases. She was a tutor in International Law Ordinary at the University of Edinburgh (2016-2019).
Her research interests include the law of the sea, international environmental law, international law-making, climate change law and international dispute settlement.
