Ms Pia Benosa

    Maria Emilynda Jeddahlyn Pia V. Benosa hails from the Philippines, and was most recently a Law Reform Specialist for the University of the Philippines Law Center’s Institute for Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea. She obtained her LL.M. in National Security Law, and a Certificate in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution, from Georgetown University Law Center in 2018, under a Fulbright Foreign Student Program grant. Prior to this, she held the Hamilton Shirley Amerasinghe Fellowship at the UN Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea. Ms. Benosa has also been teaching Public International Law and Local Governments at the University of the Philippines College of Law since 2018. Her research interests include the use of force at sea, women in the maritime community, and the protection of marine biodiversity beyond national jurisdiction.
