Hla Yadanar Win is a Research Associate at the Centre for International Law with the Public International Law Programme. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Yangon (Myanmar) in 2018 and her Master of Laws degree in Globalization and Law from Maastricht University (the Netherlands) in 2023. For her master’s thesis, she conducted research on a strategic approach to the United Nations Security Council resolutions concerning the situation in Myanmar.
Before pursuing her master’s degree, Hla worked as an Associate at one of the leading German law firms in Myanmar, advising mainly on employment law and corporate compliance. She was also admitted and enrolled as a Higher Grade Pleader in Myanmar in 2020. During her undergraduate years, she also participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law moot court competition (2019) and the ICRC Red Cross IHL moot court competition (2018).
Hla’s research interests are public international law, international humanitarian law, international criminal law, and the role of international organizations.
