Profile
Millicent McCreath is a Scientia PhD Scholar at UNSW Sydney, Australia. Her research focusses on the marine environment, state responsibility, community interests and dispute settlement.
From 2017 to 2019 Millicent was a Research Associate with the Ocean Law and Policy Programme at CIL. While at CIL Millicent worked on projects under a grant from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore relating to shipping and the protection of the marine environment, as well as other topics including climate change and the oceans, maritime boundary delimitation and dispute settlement under the law of the sea.
Prior to joining CIL Millicent was a judicial clerk at the Land and Environment Court of New South Wales. Millicent has a BA majoring in Environmental Studies and an LLB (honours) from UNSW Sydney. She also has an LLM in International Law of the Sea from the University of Tromsø, the Arctic University of Norway. Millicent is admitted to practice as a solicitor in New South Wales, Australia and completed her practical legal training in public interest environmental litigation. In 2017 Millicent received the prize for the best written exam at the Rhodes Academy of Ocean Law and Policy.
