The book 'Asia and UNCLOS 30 Years' Implementation: An Assessment' (edited by Nguyen Hong Thao and Vu Hai Dang) has been published by Springer. It brings together perspectives from leading scholars in Asia on developments in ocean law and policy in the region, considers the impact of UNCLOS on ocean law in Asia 40 years on, and highlights how the Asian legal epistemic community views and understands various ocean issues. 

The book features contributions from CIL Co-Head of Oceans Law and Policy, Emeritus Professor Robert Beckman (Military Exercises Involving Live Firing in the EEZ and the 'Due Regard' Obligation in 1982 UNCLOS), CIL Research Fellow Dita Liliansa (Regional Cooperation on Fishing Vessel Safety in Southeast Asia), and CIL Research Fellow Dr. Su Wai Mon (Protection of Submarine Communication Cables: The Need for a Systematic Legal and Regulatory Framework in Malaysia).
