TRILA Thailand Report illustrates in detail the lectures, presentations, and interventions in the online workshop that was held on 3-4 March 2022. The workshop was co-organised by NUS Centre for International Law, and Chulalongkorn University, Faculty of Law.

The report features the following:

  • Keynote Address of Professor Surakiart Sathirathai on ‘Changes in International Political, Economic and Technological Landscape: Challenges and Opportunities for International Law Teaching and Research’
  • Special Lecture of Professor Emeritus Vitit Muntarbhorn on ‘Revitalizing the International Law Pedagogy in the Post-Pandemic World’
  • Panel discussion with Professor Sakda Thanitcul, Dr Vilawan Mangklatanakul, and Professor Antony Anghie on the ‘Role of Thai International Lawyers in Future International Law-Making’

Likewise, the report highlights the presentations on the following topics:

  • Teaching international law in Thailand and Laos
  • Formulating an international law syllabus for law and non-law students in Thailand, and selecting and developing one’s own teaching materials
  • Research methodologies—doctrinal, policy-oriented, socio-legal, and interdisciplinary
  • Optimising research tools for international law research
  • Writing for international publications—ideas for research, submission processes of journals, topics to write on, and other practical tips

Lastly, the report contains the summary of paper presentations by selected Thai junior scholars.
