ASEAN Law Academy
With the aim of further establishing the field of ASEAN integration studies in its own right, the editors and authors of the book series—experienced professors and practitioners from Singapore and around the world—have developed the ASEAN Law Academy (Foundation and Advanced Programmes) and the ASEAN Law and Policy Curriculum. Cutting across disciplines of economics, law and political science, these programmes and content are part of CIL’s commitment to ASEAN integration at both the academic and practitioner levels.
The ASEAN Law Academy Advanced Programme (formerly known as "the ASEAN Law Academy") was initiated during the Singapore Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2018, to provide and promote ASEAN legal education curriculum among policy makers, practitioners and academics, especially in the areas of international trade and investment law. It is a cross-disciplinary master’s level intensive programme, with a specialised practice-based curriculum taught by international subject experts from academia and practice. The Advanced Programme is divided into the Changemaker track for policymakers and practitioners, and the Educator track for researchers and Educators.
The ASEAN Law Academy Foundation Programme offers a free online version of a comprehensive introduction to ASEAN for undergraduate students and practitioners. The syllabus and course materials are updated annually. The Foundation programme is accompanied by pedagogical resources for use by tertiary educators.
The ASEAN Law and Policy Curriculum comprises modules and syllabi based on the ASEAN Integration Through Law Book Series. This curriculum is freely available online for academics who wish to conduct specialised ASEAN Law and Policy courses at their home institutions.
