CIL Welcomes Postdoctoral Fellow

CIL is pleased to welcome Dr Heejin Kim who will be joining us on 3 August 2017 as Postdoctoral Fellow on the ASEAN Law and Policy team.

Dr Heejin Kim is an ASEAN Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre for International Law. She obtained her LL.M and J.S.D from Yale Law School where she was an editor of Yale Journal of International Law and participated in multiple student-led initiatives. Heejin received Korean Government Scholarship for Overseas Doctoral Studies from the National Institute for International Education, and Howard M. Holtzmann Fellowship in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution awarded by Yale Law School. For her first law degree, she studied at Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, Korea.

Prior to joining CIL, Heejin was a Postdoctoral Fellow at NUS Faculty of Law. Heejin has also worked for the various institutions including Office of the Presidency at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Constitutional Court of Korea, and the National Human Rights Commission of Korea. She was also involved with the Yale Law School’s Khmer Rouge Trial Project, co-authoring bench briefs for the Chamber at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Chambers of Cambodia (ECCC). Her book, “Regime Accommodation in International Law: Human Rights in International Economic Law and Policy” was published with Brill/Nijhoff in August 2016.
