Vietnam Launch Event | 20 May 2026

The UNESCO Chair on AI Law & Sustainability at the Centre for International Law (CIL), National University of Singapore, is pleased to announce the first event of its ASEAN Network Series — a flagship initiative running from May 2026 to April 2027, supported by the ILA AI & Technology Law Committee.

Taking place on Wednesday, 20 May 2026 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Room 701, E1 Building, 144 Xuan Thuy Street, Cau Giay Ward, Hanoi, this public lecture marks the first in a series of engagements across ASEAN member states, bringing rigorous AI law and governance scholarship directly to academic communities throughout the region.

The event will be led by Dr.Jon Truby, UNESCO Chair on AI Law & Sustainability at CIL NUS, joined by researchers and a moderator for a 90-minute core session on AI law, governance and sustainable development frameworks. The programme also includes an information session on the Junior ASEAN Researcher Scheme, a Research Publications Roundtable with host faculty and a CIL-sponsored networking lunch.

The ASEAN Network Series is a flagship initiative of CIL and is aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), with a strong commitment to Global South representation, gender equity and pathways for early-career scholars.
