CIL Research Fellow Dr Su Wai Mon served as the facilitator for Session 5: Case Study Breakout Session – Cable Protection and Maritime Planning at the ASEAN Workshop on Implementing Best Practices for Submarine Cable Protection and Repairs, led by the Infocom Media Development Authority (IMDA) (Singapore) and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Australia).

During the session, representatives from government agencies across ASEAN Member States examined a hypothetical case study and discussed the role of marine spatial planning in enhancing the protection, resilience, and long-term sustainability of submarine communication cables.
