On 3-4 August 2016, Prof Robert Beckman, CIL Head of Ocean Law and Policy Programme, participated in an international conference on the South China Sea that was organised by the Foreign Service Institute of the Philippines and held at the Manila Hotel, in Manila. Prof Beckman made a presentation in Plenary Session Four, which was entitled ‘International Norms and Rules: The Code of Conduct and other Remedies in the South China Sea’.
