David Santoro, President and CEO of the Pacific Forum visited CIL on 8 August 2025. He met with Denise Cheong, Head of Energy Law and Policy and Research Fellow Nivedita S to discuss nuclear developments in the region and governance challenges. Pacific Forum, in partnership with the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSCAP), convenes the Nuclear Energy Experts Group (NEEG) - a multilateral forum whose purpose is to provide a platform for expert discussions on the safe, secure, and proliferation-resistant development of nuclear energy programs. Its activities are particularly focused on the Asia-Pacific region and the evolving landscape of nuclear power in Southeast Asia. CIL has been participating in NEEG meetings since 2016.
