Dita Liliansa and Dr. Su Wai Mon took part in the Chatham House Track 1.5 Dialogue on Southeast Asia’s Emerging Maritime Security Challenges
CIL Research Fellows Dita Liliansa and Dr. Su Wai Mon took part in the Chatham House Track 1.5 Dialogue on Southeast Asia’s Emerging Maritime Security Challenges, held on 26-27 February 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Organised by the Chatham House Asia-Pacific Programme and funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), the dialogue convened experts from across Southeast Asia to examine both longstanding and emerging maritime security threats.
The discussions focused on strengthening regional stability while safeguarding national interests. Dita Liliansa delivered the opening statement in Session 2, titled “Climate Change: How are Rising Temperatures Impacting Maritime Security?”, while Su Wai Mon opened Session 3, addressing “From Cyber Conflicts and Internet Cables to Information Wars: How are Digital Domains Shaping Maritime Security?”
