CIL Research Fellow Su Wai Mon participated in the Second Southeast Asia–Pacific Dialogue: Connecting Southeast Asia and the Pacific through Resilient Submarine Cable Infrastructure, organised by the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam on 8 October 2026 in Hanoi, Vietnam (hybrid format).

Su shared her perspectives on strengthening the resilience of submarine cable infrastructure in Southeast Asia and the wider Indo-Pacific, highlighting the importance of a comprehensive approach that integrates protection, resilience, and regional cooperation. Her discussion emphasised the need to enhance regulatory frameworks, strengthen public–private partnerships, promote information sharing among stakeholders, and develop practical mechanisms for regional cooperation to safeguard critical underwater infrastructure that supports digital connectivity, economic security, and maritime resilience.
