Dr. Jon Truby participated in the United Nations AI for Good Global Summit 2025 in Geneva, co-hosted by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Swiss Government. The Summit was organised as the United Nation’s leading platform advancing AI in service of sustainable development. This landmark event explored how artificial intelligence can effectively address the UN Sustainable Development Goals, tackling key issues including health innovation, food sustainability, quantum technology and global AI governance. A highlight included a powerful message delivered on behalf of Pope Leo XIV, who emphasised AI's ethical responsibility towards human dignity, freedom and the common good. The summit also featured prominent global leaders, AI pioneers Geoffrey Hinton, Yoshua Bengio and Yann LeCun, alongside business visionaries and ethical advocates such as Meredith Whittaker and Abeba Birhane. Over 250 sessions spotlighted practical, scalable AI solutions, reinforcing crucial dialogues on transparency, accountability and inclusivity.
