CIL Research Fellow Liu Yulu participated as a panellist in the 2024 Shenzhen Global Marine Economy Forum, 31 October – 1 November, Shenzhen, China. This event was part of the 2024 China Marine Economy Expo.

Yulu shared the panel with Salman Al Farisi, Secretary General, the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), Ashok Adiceam, Deputy to French Presidential Special Envoy UN Ocean Conference, Pierre Failler, Professor at the University of Portsmouth and Zhou Jinfeng, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation. The panel centred on ‘Improving the Efficiency and Increasing the Scope of Ocean Governance’, covering topics including latest developments in global ocean governance, the importance of technology transfer and international collaboration. The panel was moderated by Claude Smadja, Senior Adviser of Global Ocean Capital Promotion Council of Shenzhen.
