On 6 November, Senior Research Fellow Dr Mohammad Hazrati delivered an online presentation at the 3rd International Academic Conference “Energy Justice & Energy Transition – Global, Europe, State,” hosted by the University of Economics in Katowice, Poland. In his talk, titled “Governing Critical Minerals for a Just and Sustainable Energy Transition in ASEAN: Insights from the EU,” he examined the central role of critical minerals in shaping a fair and sustainable energy transition across Southeast Asia. Drawing on EU policy frameworks and governance practices, he highlighted opportunities, challenges, and potential pathways for ASEAN countries to advance just, secure, and environmentally responsible mineral governance.
