Graciously hosted by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), on 3 April 2024, Prof Beckman and Joel Ong organized a visit of NUS Faculty of Law students in his International Regulation of Shipping class to the MPA Port Operations Control Centre. CIL researchers from the Ocean Law & Policy team also participated in the visit.

This visit fostered a deeper understanding of MPA’s work, and how Singapore manages maritime traffic through one of the busiest straits in the world, the Straits of Malacca and Singapore, and in its port waters.
